JUNE 28, 2021 – ALM’s LegalTech News Interviews Trademark Attorney Julie Tolek to catch up with her after being a 2015 and 2016 honoree on the American Bar Association Legal Technology Resource Center’s “Women of Legal Tech” list. Julie discusses her experience as a woman working in Legal Tech and best practices on how to adopt tech into a legal practice.

There is a shortage of women in science, technology, engineering, and math. But there are many women with successful careers in the legal tech community. Legaltech News presents our newest “STEM Cell” profile, in which Sherry Kappel recently interviewed Julie Tolek, trademark attorney at Caldwell Intellectual Property Law. This profile is a continuation of the Women of Legal Tech series originally published by editor Monica Bay, “To inspire girls, women (and men).”

Between April and the end of June 2021, we will put six 2015 award winners on the “Women of Legal Tech” list of the Legal Technology Resource Center of the American Bar Association. This was the list’s opening year, and featured an enormous group of women who are now part of a six-year (and counting!) Tradition of honoring women in legal technology. 2015 was also the year Monica Bay pulled out of ALM, so it seems appropriate that we pick up where she left off.
