LifeStarr Excerpt:

“What is intellectual property?”

Dr. Keegan Caldwell: “The way that I like to think about it…intellectual property is intangible. So unlike our house, which we can put a fence around to guard our property, and that we can even section off and sell off little bits of our property, intellectual property can’t really be sectioned off like that and we can’t really sell off little bits of it. And it’s intangible, it’s something that we can’t touch or feel, its ideas that we’ve come up with. But like a house, the government has come up with processes for awarding certain protections around various areas of intellectual property like trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets.”
