Internet & Social Media

Overview

The Internet and social media provide businesses with a multitude of opportunities to promote their products and services. Our attorneys advise clients regarding legal, regulatory and policy issues presented by social media, which includes managing consequences that may arise from use of social media platforms, complying with applicable laws and regulations, and policing IP rights on social media. In addition, we represent clients in Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) matters, including safe harbors, website terms and conditions, and enforcement matters, and handle proceedings under the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP).

Our experience in this area includes protecting clients’ properties globally against infringement on the Internet and other unauthorized use. We also represent clients in litigation involving infringing websites and fraudulent use of trademarks, trade names and other protected intellectual property in fraudulent online practices.

We also execute and review for our clients a wide range of Internet-related agreements, including website development, Internet advertising, Co-branding and banner ad, co-sponsorship, Hyperlinking agreements, and E-commerce agreements.
