Ed’s passion is to make his clients successful. Ed helps his clients to identify, protect, and optimize the value of their intellectual property with a focus on patent prosecution and counseling, as well as post-grant proceedings.

As a Patent Attorney, Dr. Mantilla uses his background in chemistry and computer sciences to guide and support his clients.  His experience includes project management, quality control, regulatory affairs, and patent prosecution which he uses to evaluate and manage patent portfolios and to prepare and prosecute patent applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) and foreign patent offices.

Ed works with inventors to write invention disclosures and patent applications, prompts patent harvesting within organizations, responds to Office Actions from the USPTO, works with foreign patent associates to formulate winning patent prosecution strategies for foreign patents, conducts prior art searches, and writes freedom-to-operate (“FTO”) reports.
