Experience

As an Associate, Kurt has helped clients protect their innovations and build strong patent portfolios across industries, including machine learning, aerospace, and electronics.

Kurt’s technical background is in aerospace and mechanical engineering, having received a degree in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with an option in Astronautics. As a senior in college, Kurt helped design a vertical take-off and landing drone designed to bring aid to areas struck by natural disasters as part of his senior design class. Kurt also interned with the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt) in Braunschweig, Germany, researching noise reduction methods for contra-rotating open rotor (CROR) motors.

While attending the University of New Hampshire – Franklin Pierce School of Law, Kurt developed his interest in patent law by engaging in patent coursework and participating in the Intellectual Property and Transaction Clinic. There, he learned how to advise clients on a variety of issues, patents, trademark protections, and selecting a business entity. Kurt further developed his knowledge of intellectual property law as Associate Editor for Volume 61 of IDEA: The Law Review of the Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property Law.
