Overview
Louis Cole is a Patent Agent, who practices patent law at the USPTO and counsels clients. In this position, Cole collaborates with clients and other attorneys and agents to ensure that the client’s IP goals are being satisfied. Highlights of his role include:
- Working with early-stage technology companies to develop strategic IP to accomplish their business objectives
- Patent preparation and prosecution
- Working in industries including autonomous cars, commercial aircraft, vertical flight aircraft, medical devices, photonics, lasers, and augmented reality
Experience
Prior to joining Caldwell, Louis worked for a boutique patent firm in Houston, Texas. In this role, he worked with FPGA, HVAC, amusement park rides, and cloud-computing technologies has given him insight into various drafting and prosecution strategies.
Louis holds a B.S. in Chemical Physics from Rice University where he also conducted biophysics research of membranes under Dr. Jason Hafner. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, binge-watching Netflix shows, and traveling with friends to various cities across the globe.
